Savor the smooth floral nuttiness of Asia

The smooth caramel creaminess from Laos. Delicious nutty undertones of Vietnam. We love unlocking the fragrant potential of Asian green coffee. Our hands-on involvement in Asia spans all the major coffee-producing countries, from Indian coffee across their entire coffee belt to the rich volcanic soils of Papua New Guinea. The variety of our origins is as wide-ranging as the landscape, from smallholders growing coffee side-by-side with bananas to established estates high up in the mountains. Our processing is extensive and sustainable. In Indonesia and Vietnam, we process fresh cherries at our own wet mills to produce high-quality washed and semi-washed arabica beans. Premium quality arabicas are also carefully selected and hand-picked from certified estates in Laos and specialty operations in Indonesia.

Explore our origins

Laos

Lush greenery, intense sunshine and generous rain help to craft some of the finest estate-specific certified Asian green coffee in the world. Sitting at an altitude of 1,250 meters, set across the rolling hills of the Bolavens Plateau in South Laos, are five estates which are completely operated by us and supply niche coffee markets and Asian coffee blends worldwide. As for the surrounding communities? We work very closely with 2,500 coffee farmers through our sustainable sourcing solution AtSource, providing traceability to a product's origin and transparency on key supply chain sustainability challenges through data and insights. It enables customers to map their unique sustainability journey, monitor performance and partner to create impact through targeted interventions.

Papua New Guinea

Green coffee that releases notes of chocolate and tropical fruit is a signature flavor from this island. That’s down to its incredibly fertile soil which infuses beans with crisp citrus acidity and fruit and chocolate notes. Around 30% of the population of Papua New Guinea is involved in coffee, which is mostly grown by smallholders in garden plots alongside bananas, papaya, legumes and other crops. And we love helping them thrive. Sourcing from the Highlands and Morobe, our coffee operations engage smallholder farmers and industry participants through certifications and projects. Why does that matter? These ensure sustainable coffee production, support of farmers, promote environmental stewardship, fair labor and meet consumer demand. For delicious coffee made with people in mind.

India

Indian coffee combines an incredibly exciting balance of tradition and innovation. All set against a backdrop of fertile soils and tropical climate, which make for very happy arabica and robusta beans. Known for its special shade-grown coffee, cultivated under a two-tier canopy of evergreen trees. The beans are entirely handpicked and completely sundried, often intercropped with spices like cardamom, pepper and vanilla. Do we sound extremely passionate about Indian coffee? We are. We source from 125 certified estates and process beans in the country, across two of our own mills (for added transparency) and one leased mill.

Indonesia

From the volcanic highlands of Java to the lush, tropical islands of Sumatra and Sulawesi provide the perfect conditions for growing distinctive beans, well known for their exotic flavor profiles. And as the largest exporter of green coffee in Indonesia, our extensive network across its islands means we can work closely with farmers to allow exceptional quality, transparency and traceability. Which boosts brand reputation and ensures greater growth for our customers.

Vietnam

Rich volcanic soils, rolling hills and tropical climate are the perfect place for both robusta and arabica varieties to thrive here. Vietnam is the world’s second largest coffee producer, with robusta as the traditional bean. However, the growth of the Asian specialty coffee industry is sparking change. Farmers are interested in growing higher quality green coffee beans and trying their hands at arabica cultivation. And we’ve been on the ground to see it happen for almost two decades—now with 6,500 employees at our own offices in Vietnam.

East Timor

Let’s take a trip to East Timor, home to the legendary Híbrido de Timor—a natural hybrid between the best of arabica and robusta coffee varieties. This island’s coffee heritage is deeply rooted in the hands of smallholder farmers, who cultivate exceptional beans in picturesque regions like Ermera, Manufahi and Liquiçá. And our dedicated team is there on the ground, managing all aspects of coffee operations—from sourcing the finest beans to processing and exporting them with care. East Timor’s coffee is a testament to resilience, tradition and outstanding quality—a story of flavor and heart in every cup.
